SCHOLASTIC
Completed entries are due at the end of class on Friday, December 1. Visit the website at http://www.artandwriting.org to browse past winners, details on categories and awards (under the WHAT WE DO tab), and to create your account! I have to send you a request for admin rights and you have to approve it in order for us to be connected. That way I can upload photos of your finished pieces. If you are submitting an artwork in the Photography category, please e-mail me your digital file. Reminder of our process: 1. Brainstorm by making a list of 10 things that are important to you. 2. Choose three to draw as thumbnails with minimal detail. 3. Select one of your thumbnails to expand upon in a full page sketch. 4. Experiment with materials to decide what you want to use 5. Begin your final piece! I encourage you to be open to changing your mind and solving your visual challenge with creative solutions. For example, consider whether using a different perspective, color scheme, composition, scale, texture, or material might change the meaning or feeling of your artwork. What are you trying to communicate to the viewer? RODEO QUICK DRAW Still life drawings were submitted by mail to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Students who are selected will be contacted to come to the Rodeo for the next round of still life drawing. More information and contest rules can be found by clicking here.
